HOW MUCH DOES A UK WEDDING PLANNER COST?
UK WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE BY EMILY 12TH AUGUST 2021
Now that you have an understanding of what the benefits of a luxury wedding planner are it's important to understand the costs involved in hiring a UK wedding planner so that you can factor this into your all-important wedding budget!
It's important to note that a wedding planners costs are reflective of more than just the time in which it takes to plan such an intricate event, even though for each full wedding planning and design, I dedicate at least 250-300 hours! The cost is also reflective of their experience/knowledge in the wedding industry, their incredible contacts, and the logistics of your event including the budget, guest size, location and expected team involved.
As a luxury wedding planner I only take on a limited number of clients per year, not only to dedicate the correct amount of time but also because getting to know them all on such a personal level enables me to plan occasions with the highest level of detail and attention.
FULL WEDDING PLANNING & DESIGN
Percentages Of Your Budget & Fixed Wedding Planning Fees
As with most services pricing is bespoke and dependent upon the level of support you require. Most UK wedding planners charge a percentage of your total budget, or a fixed fee that reflects the wedding you are looking to plan with terms and conditions should anything dramatically change along the journey.
The UK wedding industry average is between 10-15% of your wedding budget
Minimum fees of luxury UK wedding planners usually start from £4000-£10,000
Different UK wedding planning services will all vary in what's included, it's important to obtain a full breakdown of the service before comparing the prices of different planners
Here at In Awe Weddings & Events, I chose a clients investment in my full wedding planning and design service to come at a bespoke fixed price based on 12-15% of your budget with a minimum fee of £4000 for one event. I feel that this ensures an honest and trusting relationship between myself and my valued clients, and cements that my advice is there only to truly guide and support you seamlessly through the planning process.
For weekend wedding planning and design, my minimum fee is £6000 which includes planning around 3 events over a number of days.
WEDDING DAY MANAGEMENT
Costs To Manage Your Wedding Day
The wedding planning service is for those of you who have planned the majority of your wedding day but know that you won't be able to relax and enjoy it without a professional there taking care of everything on the day. Again, lots of different wedding planners include different elements to their wedding day management services, which is why they can vary a lot in price.
Simple wedding day coordination can start from around £950 and is usually a fixed fee
For support and planning that begins a few months before the big day and involves more complex logistics, a marquee or numerous venues you can expect to pay between £900-£1700
My wedding day management service begins 2-3 months prior to your wedding date and involves a lot of planning and organisation in the final stages as well as ensuring your on-the-day schedule is perfected and that everything runs smoothly for you and your guests. For this service I charge a minimum fee of £1250.
WEDDING STYLING & DESIGN
Bespoke Wedding Planning & Styling
Because of how vastly different the scale, scope and design of a wedding can be. Uk wedding stylists tend to price this service in a completely bespoke manner.
Hourly from £50-£90 per hour, your wedding planner after a consultation will put together a proposal that reflects the hours of work they are going to need to invest in designing your wedding day.
For larger-scale design, your Uk wedding planner may cost this service in a similar way to full wedding planning and styling using a percentage of your wedding budget with a minimum fee. Most luxury wedding stylists services for design only begin at £1500-£2000
Hidden Costs To Look Out For
Something you need to watch out for is that some UK wedding planners will charge a commission to their suppliers which will be added to the fee that you pay for your catering/florals/venue etc. In effect, this means you are paying them a fee but also paying them a percentage of the fee for all your wedding suppliers too.
In Awe Weddings & Events does not operate this way and any discounts I obtain from my relationships with close industry suppliers are passed on directly to you, and is one of the reasons why hiring a UK wedding planner can actually save you money!
The reason planners use your wedding budget as a starting point for costing their wedding planning services is that a bigger budget correlates to increased planning logistics and more planning time. It is only fair that as your wedding evolves and changes along the journey that a planners time is covered, which is why a lot of UK wedding planners charge a percentage of the final fee.
Because I have chosen a fixed fee the cost of hiring me as your wedding planner, the cost for my services only increases if the vision and budget we originally discussed changes dramatically. For example, you invite a significant amount more guests than we thought, or that your budget increases by over £10,000. It's important to be honest and transparent about your budget when you first contact a potential UK wedding planner.
I would love to help you plan and design an incredible wedding day,
