10 QUESTIONS TO ASK ON A WEDDING VENUE SITE VISIT
In Awe Advice, BY Emily February 22nd 2021
As a business owner its important at the start of each year to write down a set of goals you wish to achieve in the next 12 months. As an experienced planner, with a relatively new business, there are just SO many stunning and incredible venues in the UK that I would LOVE to work with, style and sew a couples love story into! I dream to do, and have been so excited over the last month or so mood boarding some potential styled shoots and chatting with clients about some of these beautiful British Gems. Because I can only take on a limited number of clients each year I certainly won't be able to plan a day in all of these in 2021 (although after this year I certainly want to!), but I would love to have these venues in the pipeline and as it was too hard to pick my top 5, I went with all 10!
If any couples or suppliers out there are in love with one of these as much as me, get in touch, let's collaborate, and watch the magic happen! (Couples I am offering a discount for helping me tick one of these off my bucket list!)
THE OLD VICARAGE BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Located in my hometown of Southwell, the family-run Vicarage can be exclusively yours! With the most stunning interior design, if you're looking for a venue that strikes the perfect balance between timeless luxury and style that feels like a home from home this is it. I am obsessed with the hints of glamour in each room and neutral colour schemes.
MIDDLETON LODGE ESTATE
Without a shadow of a doubt, the most beautiful venue in North Yorkshire! Middleton Lodge offers 2 individual venues, The fig house looking out onto the walled gardens, and The main house an 18th-century Georgian building steeped in grandeur. The epitome of a luxurious relaxed yet refined country style, and you can party until 2am!
Richmond, North Yorkshire
EURIDGE HOUSE & ORANGERY
The extraordinary spectacular grounds of Euridge Manor are one-of-a-kind, and there are 450 acres to enjoy. The wow factor is never-ending and it's quite simply one of the most beautiful venues in the UK with so many options and areas for every element of your story (even a thatched boat house), it is literally what dreams are made of!
Castle Comb, The Cotswolds

A true country retreat with the option of a reception in the main house surrounded by Georgian features, or the Coachouse for a rustic luxury feel. Theres even a cricket pitch in the grounds, and as it was named Sunday Times 'best place to party' planning your party of parties here would be an absolute honour!

Moving away from the country for a moment and to one of my favourite city venues, The Ned. This isn't just on my bucket list because it's absolutely stunning and the epitome of city chic, but it would be incredible for me to plan a wedding here as it used to be somewhere I sang in nearly every Sunday! An incredible bout of nostalgia to be back here for an incredible event, and it really is just beautiful!

Another stunning venue for a more intimate wedding and the absolute epitome of contemporary minimalism that's overflowing with character. You can take over the entire house for your day and feel a home away from home. Isn't it just lovely!

My love for weekend weddings would basically explode if I was to plan one at Wilderness Reserve! With 5000 acres this private estate would be an incredible setting for your weekend of celebrations, with a plethora of activities and styling options I can just imagine the most epic wedding at this estate. It really is the ultimate country experience.
Home to the incredible resident caterers Kalm Kitchen (trust us their food and concepts are industry-leading), Millbridge Court is a fresh and modern venue where the styling possibilities are endless. They have added a touch of class with old antique furniture, panelling on the walls, beams, and barn features!

Owned by one of my all-time favourite hospitality companies Soho House, Babington House is another absolute beauty. You can guarantee a stunning setting with incredible service and is another venue with the potential to spread your celebration to a weekend of fun with a cricket pitch, tennis court, and croquet lawn!
After it's renovation last year Norwood Park really brought itself into the realm of top British wedding venues. Having always been stunning on the outside its new decor really is stunning on the inside too, keeping its Georgian character but bringing it up to date with a neutral contemporary meets classic interior. Being so close to home I couldn't be luckier to have this on my doorstep!
As stunning as all of these wedding venues in the UK are, planning your day is based on an experience, evoking a rollercoaster of emotions created through personalised design that relates to, and seduces everyone present. Your beautiful venue and styling are seen as a backdrop to the main event, how your wedding feels!
I would love to hear more about your vision and help you to plan and style a day that surpasses all your expectations.
